Prohodna Cave "Eyes of God"

The cave has a network of passages with complex stalactite and stalagmite formations.
The cave also contains animal fossils, prehistoric paintings and artifacts from the Neolithic period to the present day.
To protect the cave from further deterioration, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012.

Many people are interested in visiting Prohodna Cave because it is famous for its natural beauty and historical relics.
Prohodna Cave is also famous for its fascinating formations, which include delicate stalactites, intricate labyrinths and rare crystal windows.
The most spectacular feature of the cave is the 12-meter long Queen Bee Pendant, which resembles a honeycomb.
Prohodna Cave has been featured in many movies and documentaries due to its fascinating formations and intriguing history.
In addition, this famous cave is home to many different species of animals such as bats, blind mole rats, scorpions and spiders.

The most important events in Prohodna Cave were recorded by the Greek geographer Pausanias, who visited the cave towards the end of the second century AD.
According to Pausanias' account, Dobrotitsa (Dobrotitsa means "tough woman") was a warrior princess who fought off invading Scythians with her bow and arrow.
Eventually, she ran out of arrows, so she took her knife from her boot and single-handedly killed all her pursuers.
After her exploits were revealed to her husband Lyukydides (Lugukydes means "silence"), he blinded them both so they could never tell their story again - explaining why there are no signs or markers in the cave today.

Although Prohodna Cave is known worldwide for its natural beauty and historical relics, more research should be done at this site as it contains fossils from prehistoric times to the present.
Prohodna Cave is considered one of the biggest attractions in Bulgaria; therefore, it is crucial for the promotion of tourism in this country to ensure that it remains intact.
